His experience and expertise come from many years in both the Dutch Marine Corps and the Commandos. Among other adventures, he's been hot in the Dutch Antilles, Beliz and Martinique; and cold and wet in Scotland and Norway. Currently, he is a fireman and rescue diver with the dutch fire service.

Wednesday 8 July 2015

Week 1, Day 1 - Starting off with a Bang... and a float.....and a swing.....and a fire.....and a knife.

What a first day of ASA Summer Survival Camps 2015!
Let's just say, it wasn't only the rain that got us wet - there was a great deal of getting wet, intentional and otherwise.  :-)    water fights, zip wiring over the water (almost), swimming, trying to cross the rope bridge over the water, falling in, raft building that highlighted our building flaws (learning experiences i believe they call this).
Extra sets of clothes and shoes, extra towels and socks are a MUST for tomorrow, please.

we made our own knives in the morning, and used them to create a delicious vegetable noodle soup over the fire in the afternoon!

Photos of the day, enjoy ( We Did!).
Herman, Rachael and the ASA crew.
